In Southern Gaza strip, Israelis demolished more than 500 civile houses since the beginning of 2nd Intifada (since October 2000). In Rafah refugee camp, at the Egyptian border, they performed mass demolition pretending that there was an underground network of tunnels used for arms traffic (which was obviously not existing). Shootings happen very often in this area. On the day of our visit in Rafah, a few hours before we arrived, a 12 year old boy had been killed by a sniper. More than 100 "martyrs" of this Intifada come from Rafah.
