In northern Gaza strip, Israel pumps the water from the underground water table. Israel diverts 88% of the renewable water for the use of its settlements in Gaza strip and for agriculture in Israel. Whenever israeli bulldozers destroy a palestinian field (to enlarge the buffer zones), they also demolish the agricultural wells. Besides, Israel forbids Palestinians from digging new wells, while settlers continue to dig at will. Water is available for israeli settlers for one fourth the price of water for Palestinians in the Gaza strip.
